junk haul away
I was inspired to write this article after dealing with many customers and hearing many horror stories ranging from bad service, destruction of property, and to include even theft. As with any industry, there are good and bad appliance and junk removal companies but with a little due diligence you may be able to avoid serious problems in the future. No method is foolproof but I believe these simple steps will help you make a confident decision.
The first thing I would look for is if they have a professional website and significant on-line presence. It takes a considerable amount of time, effort, and money to create that on-line presence which means they are concerned about their reputation and standing in the community. This is especially important if you are a small business seeking a company to handle your recycling needs. If they care about their reputation then they will care about keeping the promises they make and the service they deliver. Also, this signals that they will be easy to contact if there is a problem or you have a concern. If they are shady or inept they will not want to be easily found.
If you are going to have a company come to your business or home you should ask for professional references. Personal references would not interest me because most people can find a couple of buddies who will say anything to help their friend. I want professional references from people or businesses that only know the company in question from doing business with them. If they do not have them or can not provide them in a timely manner then I would most likely move on to the next candidate.
Personally, I would want to know what they are going to do with the materials that they haul away. This may not seem important but in my opinion it says a lot. If a company is conscientious enough to be socially responsible and environmentally friendly then that leads me to believe that they will show the same dedication to delivering the desired service. I would make sure that they donate what they can and make every effort to keep as much as possible from ending up in a landfill.
By following these few simple suggestions you will be able to make an informed decision about which appliance and junk removal company to choose. These few extra steps could save you from being the main character in your own horror story.
